Taiwan experiences many typhoons every year, but do you pay attention to typhoon holidays or truly take the dangers of typhoons seriously?
Teach First Taiwan recently visited the remote Ren'ai Township in Nantou County. After the typhoon, the school's buildings and resources for students were severely lacking. Thanks to the generosity of many people, Teach First Taiwan and its partners successfully raised 2,500 pairs of socks, 800 sets of stationery, 60 blankets, 1,000 towels, 800 pairs of sneakers, and 500 packs of sanitary pads to support the children in these remote schools.
Typhoons are not just phenomena observed by meteorological agencies or mentioned in textbooks. In many parts of the world, typhoons deprive students of educational resources. We hope that while enjoying typhoon holidays, everyone can also pay more attention to remote and disaster-affected areas.
In collaboration with Teach For Taiwan, under the global network Teach For All, a conference was organized for Teach First Taiwan volunteers and high school students to address educational inequality in Taiwan.
